About me

Based in Epsom, Surrey, I attended West Surrey College of Art and Design (now part of the UCA group) obtaining a degree in printed textiles back in the late 1980’s.

I love to work with colour, both in oil and acrylic, often applying paint with a palette knife and thickening mediums such as wax to add texture to my paintings. I am inspired by nature and my surroundings when travelling and walking my dogs. Working from my own photos is imperitive to me as I believe capturing the escence of a place is only posible if you have experienced it personally.

A few years ago I attended a foundation course in Art Therapy at Roehampton University which reinforced my opinion that art has a hugely positive effect on our mental wellbeing whether as a practitioner or a viewer.

Now that my family has grown up I can return to my art. I am at the stage in my life where I want to do more of what I love, creating images and artworks that will hopefully bring joy to and resonate with the viewer.

I exhibit locally several times a year as a member of Epsom and Ewell Art Group, including both Summer and Winter exhibitions at Denbies Vinyard in Dorking and The Horton, Epsom. I also exhibit and sell independently at various art fairs within Surrey as well as galleries, South Street Gallery, Dorking, Art House Galleries in Woking and The Stockroom Society, Leatherhead.

Hopefully you will enjoy looking at my work and if you would like to discuss a commission please do not hesitate to get in touch via my contact page.
